Monaghan County Museum in Monaghan Town first opened in 1974 and is committed to promoting the historical richness, cultural diversity and history of the region.

Monaghan County Museum is based in Peace Campus in Monaghan Town. The relocation of the museum involved meticulously logging and categorising over 50,000 artefacts which have been collected and accumulated over its 50 year history.

Coinciding with the move, an exhibition entitled Bordering Realties - Monaghan People and Stories has been unveiled, exploring the idea of borders within lives and heralding a new era at the museum.

The building is fully accessible and there is a lift from the under ground car park into the museum.
