Fishing Adventures operates from Kilbaha Quay, only about a 20 minute journey by boat to rich fishing grounds in the Atlantic Ocean. Fishing boat charters can be on a daily or weekly basis for a Lochin 33 sea angling boat known as the Isle of Aran. Rods and reels and a large selection of fishing tackle are supplied. Day trips generally last from 9am to 5pm.
The Atlantic Ocean on the west coast of Clare is renowned for its abundance of fish species including mackerel, cod, ling, pollock, whiting, haddock, wrasse, and flatfish. Shark species include six gill, blue, porbeagle, tope, skate, spurdog, dogfish, bullhuss and ray. Fishing Adventures is involved with the Marine Sportfish Tagging Programme so all sharks are documented, tagged and released unharmed.
If the weather is not suitable for fishing the Atlantic Ocean, the option of fishing on the Shannon Estuary can be a very leisurely and enjoyable experience to fish for tope, conger, bull huss, ray and more. Some people prefer this more relaxed type of fishing.
Fishing Adventures also caters for families, stag and hen parties, school trips, or any other groups that might like to take a day out to do a spot of fishing, dolphin watching, bird watching or sightseeing.
Kilbaha has two restaurant pubs where they will be happy to cook some of your catch and where you
can enjoy a beautiful meal. They also have evening entertainment including traditional music. The historic Loop Head Lighthouse is a short drive from Kilbaha.
