The procession, hosted by Faughart Community Group, is led by robed figures carrying a representation of Brigid followed by a lone drummer who will lead everyone to Faughart Graveyard to be greeted by fire on the motte & candlelit ruins in the ancient graveyard with Gregorian chant floating in the air.

Brigid’s Holy Well & birthplace is on the site of Faughart Graveyard & the procession will celebrate this iconic local woman, right here where her light began to shine first before it radiated throughout the world.

The event is open to people of all faiths & none & is an opportunity to remember those that have gone before us, a time to reflect on our busy lives & on the extraordinary life of Brigid, Celtic Goddess & Ireland’s Matron Saint.
