Django’s is uniquely located in Cloughjordan, in Ireland’s only Eco Village, committed to a message of sustainable development and offering various tours, courses and community and lifestyle experiences raising awareness that respects the planet. Django’s in North Tipperary has a relaxed friendly atmosphere, catering for families, individuals, curious travellers and learning groups. We offer six bed and breakfast rooms and can cater for up to 18 guests. Rooms include private singles, doubles, twins and family rooms. All rooms are en suite and a continental breakfast is included. On request full meals can be organised for groups.
Django’s also offers three fully appointed holiday apartments each with a double en suite bedroom and kitchen/dining room.
A wheelchair accessible room is also avaiable, free parking and responsible pet owners are also welcome in the dog friendly room.
Of local interest is the eco village itself. You won’t want to miss the tours every Sunday guided by a resident. You can also arrange for group tours and presentations by appointment. You will learn about the environmental and ecological philosophy of our eco neighborhood and our community’s creation of a model of sustainable living and the desire to encourage others to follow this example.
In Cloughjordan you can see our community organic farm, taste local Tipperary produce and the village baker’s award winning bread. There are local forest walks and you can follow in the path of history along Ireland’s longest walk, the Beara Breifne Way. For more history, Tipperary has a wealth of castles and abbeys, Birr Castle, Nenagh Castle, Ormond Castle, Portumna Castle, Holycross Abbey and scenic Lough Derg on the Shannon are all close to Django’s. Thomas MacDonagh, one of the executed leaders of the 1916 Rebellion and a signatory of the Irish Proclamation lived in Cloughjordan where you can visit the museum dedicated to his honour.
