Relax and enjoy the surroundings and animals at Johnsfort House and Farm. Stay in the Marianne Cottage or Bartholomew's Loft and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Meet the Highland cattle, Jacob sheep and Bantam hens.

Johnsfort House and Farm have been in the Ball family since the late 1700s. Today, their ancestors Richard and Bairbre Ball and three young children, look forward to welcoming you to their boutique farm stay on the edge of Clonmellon Village - where the Boyne Valley meets the Hidden Heartlands.

Wander down the fields to see the animals, feed the hens or the baby lambs or collect eggs for breakfast. Immerse yourself in the beauty and extraordinary heritage of the Boyne Valley and come home in the evening to the warmth of Johnsfort. Climb to the top of the hill of Lough Crew just 15 minutes away, the highest point in county Meath, with a 5000 year old megalithic burial tomb on top. Just 3km away is Killua Castle and gardens, a stunning gothic style 19th century castle.

Wander through forest and bogland at Girley Bog Eco Walk. The Seven Wonders of Fore and the Nancy to Nellie loop walk is beautiful and only twenty minutes away, with Barrel n' Bean Coffee shop and Fore Distillery both close by. Visit the stunning Lough Crew Gardens, fairy trail and coffee shop.

Take the short 30 minute journey to Trim Castle where Braveheart was filmed or spend time at the spectacular 5000 year old Newgrange and Brú na Boinne Visitor Centre. All these local attractions and more can be found in the guest directories when staying in Marianne Cottage or Bartholomew's Loft. Come to Johnsfort for the warm welcome, fresh air, farm animals, peace and quiet, fresh eggs and Bairbre's homemade brown bread.
