The Lodge at Ashford Castle is only a 40 minute drive from Galway, Westport and Connemara, making it an ideal location from which to explore the wonderful West. With enchanting views of Lough Corrib, the lodge is a beautiful Georgian house, built in 1852 by the Guinness family for their estate manager.
Today, it combines period features with sophisticated contemporary elements that continue to the modern courtyard wing housing 64 bedrooms, with a number of suites.
Steeped in history, maintaining the sustainability of this beautiful building is a main priority. There are a number of initiatives aimed at enhancing guest's experience to the West of Ireland, from visits to a local farm who supply milk, tours of the poly-tunnel, to biking around the estate. Or enjoy any of the over 25 activities available on the Estate.
