Discover the spectacular Cliffs of Moher Experience in County Clare. Voted Ireland’s Best Visitor Attraction in the Reader Travel Awards, they form part of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark as well as a special protection area for birds and wildlife under the terms of the EU Birds Directive.

Visually spectacular, the Cliffs of Moher sit atop the striking landscape of the Burren on one side, with the Wild Atlantic Ocean on the other. They stretch for 14km and reach over 200m at O'Brien's Tower.

The area features 800m of safe, paved pathways that lead to beautifully appointed viewing areas. From these vantage points, one can admire the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, the Maamturks, and even faraway County Kerry on fine days.

Visitors are encouraged to take some time to speak with the experienced guides onsite, who will illuminate the story of the cliffs with their knowledge of history, mythology, geology and folklore.

If individuals have mobility issues, there is an electric vehicle available called The 'Lifts of Moher' to transport them to the viewing areas.

Why we like it
  • A designated UNESCO Global Geopark.
  • Jaw-dropping views from the sea cliffs.
  • A Special Protected Area (SPA) for seabirds.
  • The eco-friendly visitor centre.
