White Strand Doonbeg is a highly secluded beach which attracts lots of visitors during the summer months due to its tranquil nature, safe swimming and water cleanliness. The beach area is sheltered on both sides by the low rocky rugged cliffs that frame the strand. The view from White Strand beach looks across to Doughmore Strand which is a very popular surfing, swimming and family beach. The beach at White Strand and surrounding coastline are also popular with fishing enthusiasts.
The beach is lifeguard patrolled during the summer months and more information can be found at the notice board located at the beach.
White Strand Doonbeg is in a designated Natural Heritage Area of ecological importance and also a Special area of Conservation (SAC).
