The lands at Doneraile can be traced back to the Synan Family who arrived in Doneraile in the 13th century. The lands were purchased by the Lord President Of Munster, Sir Willian St Ledger, in 1636 whose family remained in residence until 1969. Today the house and 166ha estate is in the care of the OPW who are responsible for its management and presentation.
Visitors to the park can enjoy magnificent Capability Brown style vistas, specimen tree avenues, formal still water ponds and view the various herds of deer grazing along side rare breed Kerry cattle.
Book afternoon tea in the Townhouse and enjoy extra touches such as tables decorated to your occasion and complimentary prosecco.
