Kinsale Museum, in Kinsale Town, is housed in a 400 year old market house and displays an eclectic collection of artefacts and oddities which have helped shape Kinsale's history. The museum covers important national and international events such as the 1601 Battle of Kinsale and the sinking of the Lusitania, for which the inquest was held in this very building.
Situated on Market Square, Kinsale Museum also explores the local maritime history of the town and tells the curious story of the Kinsale Giant. The museum is suitable for all the family with original artefacts, audio visual displays, interpretive panels and a team of knowledgeable volunteers on hand.
