Jutting out from the northeastern side of the Inishowen Peninsula, Inishowen Head sits 400m north of Shrove (known locally as Stroove) and provides panoramic views of the Atlantic, Inishowen Head Lighthouse and the shores of Northern Ireland.
Visitors are greeted by open coastal views of Lough Foyle across to Magilligan Point. Stroll the sandy beach, set out for the Inishowen Head Loop Walk or have lunch at one of the point's picnic tables, which are overlooked by the picture-perfect Inishowen Head Lighthouse.
The best way to explore the area is by foot. There's a small gravel car park located at Inishowen Head itself. Alternatively, you can park at Stroove beach car park and walk northward.
