Dublin Dance Festival and Bord Gáis Energy Theatre present Chora by Luail, Ireland’s national dance company, with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, a triple bill of new dance works drawing on themes home, landscape and community.
Luail opens Dublin Dance Festival’s 21st Edition at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre with its first major production, "Chora", performed by the company’s ensemble alongside the Irish Chamber Orchestra. Drawing on the ancient Greek concept of "chora" – a space that is both physical and abstract – this triple bill presents a dynamic exchange between dancers and musicians, drawing on themes of memory and landscape.
The three works, "I Contain Multitudes" by choreographers Maria Campos and Guy Nader, "Constellations" by Liz Roche, and "Invocation" by Mufutau Yusuf, create their own unique and captivating atmosphere within the shared space that is "Chora".
