From modest beginnings in 1970, the Liberties Festival has grown to become a highlight of the summer in Dublin with a series of family-friendly, sporting and community events, and an exciting multi-cultural and arts programme.
The Festival is an innovative and purpose driven community festival working with local community members and professional artists to put culture, creativity and diversity at the heart of The Liberties. The festival is delivered by two local community development projects- SICCDA (South Inner City Community Development Association) & Robert Emmet Community Development Project – as a way of supporting performers while celebrating the diverse culture of The Liberties area of Dublin 8.
