The picture postcard village of Sneem, set on the Iveragh Peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way, is home to the Bronze Statue of John Egan. It is a fitting tribute to one of the legendary Kerry Gaelic footballers of the 1970's and 1980's.
Facing the sports field in the South Square of Sneem Village in County Kerry, sits a life size statue of John Egan. The statue commemorates local man John Egan, who is considered to be one of the all time greats of Kerry GAA football. A gifted corner forward, John was a former captain of the Kerry football team and winner of six All Ireland Senior Football medals.
The bronze statue is sculpted by renowned artist, Alan Ryan Hall. It captures John sitting on a bench with a football in hand.
