The Shackleton Experience is a permanent exhibition dedicated to the County Kildare born polar pioneer. It showcases remarkable artifacts including an original sledge and harness from his Antarctic adventures, the cabin where Shackleton tragically passed away and a detailed model of his ship, Endurance. Visitors can also enjoy captivating audio visual displays and original film footage in the 30 seater audio room.
The Shackleton Autumn School, affectionately known as The Polar School, was founded to honour the legacy of the legendary explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. Held annually during the October Bank Holiday weekend, this event celebrates his remarkable contributions to polar exploration.
