Hurling Tours Ireland, in Kilkenny City, brings the local passion for the Irish game of hurling to the visitor. Each session teaches participants about the basics of the sport in a short presentation. Then the instructor takes you onto the field to try out these ancient Irish skills for yourself.

Discover the magic of Ireland's national sport with Hurling Tours Ireland in Kilkenny City. The immersive tours offer an unforgettable experience that is suitable for all ages and abilities. The tours take place at the O'Loughlin Gaels GAA grounds in Kilkenny City, a short walk from Kilkenny Castle. Car parking is available on site.

The 90 minute experience begins in the hurling team’s dressing room where you will be given a hurley (stick) and sliotar (ball) to get a feel for the sport. The presentation covers the rules, history and other facets of this unusual sport. Once you are up to speed on the basics, you will be taken out onto the playing field to try out these skills for yourself, where you will also be given tips and advice by a hurling expert. At the end of the experience, there will be plenty of time for photos and questions.

Hurling is a game steeped in tradition and history, and this is a culturally rich Irish experience for visitors to Kilkenny, a city where almost everyone is obsessed with hurling.

Hurling Tours Ireland offer scheduled experiences throughout the week that you can book online, both in Kilkenny and in a second location at Freshford, a 15 minute drive from Kilkenny City.
