A substantial portal dolmen, of which the capstone is, uniquely, cantilevered. Signposted, access from a private avenue.
Kilmogue dolmen, known locally as 'Leac an Scail' stone of the warrior or hero. It is one of the tallest and most spectacular examples of a portal dolmen in Ireland. Not only is the sheer size of this tomb impressive but also the engineerin, the portal tomb has been constructed using a large capstone resting on two large portal stones and a pillow stone resting on a backstone. The portal stones are around 3.7m high and the capstone reaches up well over 4m.
