In 1709, several families of German origin settled in Ireland known as the Palatines. They established roots mainly in County Limerick. The exhibition on display at the Irish Palatine Heritage Museum in Rathkeale, County Limerick tells their story.
The Irish Palatine Heritage Centre in County Limerick, houses an exhibition that seeks to represent in detail the experience of the Irish Palatine immigrants to Ireland; ranging from their German places of origin to their colonisation and settlement in Ireland.
The Irish Palatine Heritage Centre features an extensive display of artefacts, photographs and graphics associated with the Palatine story.
It is set in landscaped surroundings and includes an archive, a tea room, gift selection and large car park.
