Keel Beach, Achill Island in County Mayo, is located on the north west side of Achill Island at the foot of Achill Head. It can also be found on the edge of the village of Keel and stretches over 3.5kms eastwards to the cliffs of Minaun.

Keel Beach, Achill Island in County Mayo is also known as Trawmore Strand. It is a shingle beach backed with low sand dunes. The wetter areas of machair supports low growing mosses. To the southeast of the plain, the ground rises sharply and the hills are covered by blanket bog and heath.

Keel beach is a haven for a variety of water sports including, diving, snorkelling, scuba diving, canoeing, surfing, water skiing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and swimming. Take a relaxing stroll along this golden, sandy beach and enjoy magnificent views of Slievemore and the Mweelaun Cliffs. Lifeguards are on duty every summer from June to August. Lifeguard times and other useful information is displayed on the information noticeboard at the beach.

Keel Beach is on Achill Island which is accessible by car. When on Achill Island, travel towards Bunacurry and then go a further 11kms to the village of Keel. It is signposted along the route. The picturesque villages of Keel, Dooagh and Doogort are also within easy reach.
