Nursing and Midwifery in the Poor-Law Unions- Public Talk
Free to visit
This talk by Lisa McGeeney examines how the professionalisation and development of nursing and midwifery in the nineteenth century was reflected in the poor-law unions between 1882 and 1922.

Following this talk, visitors are invited to explore the exhibition. There is also an opportunity to sit and reflect and to share your memories in our special My Midwife Memory book. By recording your memory, you will be contributing to community-led research on this topic which may be reproduced in print or online by curator Emma Laffey and/or the Irish Community Archive Network.

This is a free event, suitable for adults. Booking is required. Email BookingsCountryLife@museum.ie or telephone the Bookings Office on +353 94 90 31751 to book your place.
