The opera Giulio Cesare by G.F. Handel is the headline event at Lismore Castle with the Gala Opening Night on Wednesday 29 May.
Regarded as one of Handel's greatest Italian operas, where ancient Egypt meets the Roman Empire in an exciting and action-packed story of politics and power, love and ambition - featuring two of history's most well-know characters - Julius Caesar and Queen Cleopatra. Nicholas McGegan will conduct the Irish Baroque Orchestra, with Tom Creed directing this spectacular Baroque opera and a host of Irish and international performers.
