The opera Giulio Cesare by G.F. Handel is the headline event at Lismore Castle on Saturday Gala Night, 1 June 2024. Regarded as one of Handel's greatest Italian operas, where ancient Egypt meets the Roman Empire in an exciting and action-packed story of politics and power, love and ambition - featuring two of history's most well-know characters - Julius Caesar and Queen Cleopatra. Nicholas McGegan will conduct the Irish Baroque Orchestra, with Tom Creed directing this spectacular Baroque opera and a host of Irish and international performers.
