Bossa Nova, which was made famous by The Girl from Ipanema, is considered the irresistible lovechild of jazz and samba. The first thing you will notice about boss nova is its calm, syncopated rhythm, marrying the coolness of American jazz with the rhythmic quirks of samba. Few singers on the Irish jazz scene can bring together such coolness and rhythmic quirks as Luisa whose distinctive and breathy vocals give her singing a languid intimacy, ideal for a Valentine’s Day concert.
