Bray native Redmond O’Toole makes a welcome return to Mermaid with a concert exploring some of the most sublime and beautiful music of the late twentieth century.
Redmond will debut an entirely new programme celebrating the work of some of the greatest composers of our time including Arvo Pärt, Phillip Glass and John Cage. The concert will also include music by Derek Gripper, Nils Frahm and Carlo Domeniconi.
Redmond performs exclusively on the Brahms guitar, a special 8 string guitar played in the cello position. He was a student of the late Oscar Ghiglia and holds a doctorate in music performance from RIAM/Trinity College.
