Wicklow Way Wines continues a long tradition of winemaking in Ireland where traditional wines are made by harvesting the wild berries growing in the hedgerows and fermenting them with water to produce ‘country wines’. Working with local Irish farmers to source the berries, the antioxidant-rich, deeply coloured, powerfully fragrant juices are fermented producing wines completely unique to Ireland.
Meet the owners of Wicklow Way Wines and hear how they first discovered fruit wines, and gradually learned to make them, working to create wines from the berries that grow in the Irish countryside. See the production area where the limited edition, small-batch wines are produced and the vats where the wines mature. Visit the tasting room and experience the flavours, colours, aromas and qualities of Ireland’s fruit wines.
